The Colorado Rockies

December to March for snow, July and August for the high country. Four Seasons Resort Vail, Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch and the St. Regis Aspen are partners.

Colorado has two clean seasons and very little in between. The ski season runs from late November to early April, with January and February the coldest and driest and March usually the deepest. Summer, from late June to early September, is the quieter half: wildflowers above the treeline, trout on the Roaring Fork and the Fryingpan, and afternoon thunderstorms that clear by evening.

Aspen and Eagle County both take private aircraft, which is the practical advantage this range has over most of the Rockies. Aspen sits in a tight valley and closes in weather, so we plan Eagle or Denver as the alternate and keep the ground transfer time on file rather than discover it on the day.

Among our preferred hotel partners, Four Seasons Resort Vail stands at the base of Vail Mountain, the Ritz-Carlton at Bachelor Gulch sits mid-mountain above Beaver Creek, and the St. Regis Aspen Resort is a block from the Silver Queen gondola. All three are within an hour of each other, which makes a two-base week straightforward.

The Colorado Rockies are the August leg of the OUIJETS twelve-month calendar, taken in high summer rather than in the ski season. Ask your advisor about acclimatisation, which matters more than most members expect above 2,400 metres, and about private guiding and early lift access in February and March.
