The Maldives
November to April for flat water and dry skies. One&Only Reethi Rah, Six Senses Laamu and COMO Cocoa Island are all OUIJETS preferred partners.
The Maldives runs on two monsoons. The dry northeast season, roughly November to April, brings flat water, long hours of sun and the visibility divers want. May to October is wetter and windier, and also quieter, which suits guests who care more about privacy than postcards.
OUIJETS members arrive into Velana International, where the transfer is part of the itinerary rather than an afterthought: a seaplane north to the Baa and Raa atolls, or a short domestic hop south to Laamu.
Among our preferred hotel partners, One&Only Reethi Rah sits on the largest island in North Male Atoll and suits families who want space. Six Senses Laamu is far south, built almost entirely over water, and is the choice for divers and for anyone who wants a genuinely remote address. COMO Cocoa Island is the smallest of the three, a speedboat ride from the capital, and the easiest to reach when time is short. Anantara operates several properties across the atolls, including a private-island option for larger groups.
Ask your advisor about whale shark season in South Ari Atoll, Ramadan timing, and which resorts allow a full private-island buyout.
