Hong Kong
October to December is the best window. Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Shangri-La and JW Marriott all operate here.
Hong Kong's best weather runs October to December: dry, clear, in the low twenties, and the only stretch of the year when the hills above the city are reliably worth walking. January and February are cool and often grey. March to May brings humidity and fog on the Peak. Summer is hot and wet, and typhoon season runs roughly June to October.
Hong Kong International takes anything and remains one of the great connecting airports. The city itself is small: most of what members want is inside a twenty-minute drive or a ferry ride, with the outlying islands and Sai Kung half an hour beyond that.
Among our preferred hotel partners, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong on the Central waterfront is the original of the group and still the reference point. Four Seasons sits beside the IFC and the airport express, the Ritz-Carlton occupies the top floors of the ICC in Kowloon, the St. Regis is in Wan Chai, Shangri-La holds both the Island and Kowloon houses, and JW Marriott is at Pacific Place.
