Deep powder in winter, wildflowers and music in summer. Mid-November to mid-April to ski; July to September to walk.
Vail runs from mid-November to mid-April for skiing, with the deepest snow from January to March. July to September brings wildflowers, hiking and the Bravo! Vail music festival. The Back Bowls, seven miles of open terrain facing south, are what regulars come back for.
Vail Mountain covers more than 5,000 acres, with Blue Sky Basin beyond the bowls. The village is pedestrian, built along Gore Creek. Beaver Creek sits ten miles west, quieter and more private, with outdoor escalators to the lifts.
Private aircraft land at Eagle County Regional Airport, about 35 minutes from Vail and 25 from Beaver Creek. Aspen is a short flight away for a split stay.
Four Seasons Resort Vail and The Ritz-Carlton Vail sit at the base of the mountain. The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch and Park Hyatt Beaver Creek are ski-in, ski-out. For families and groups, fully staffed private chalets.
Ask your advisor about a private ski guide for first tracks, a split stay with Aspen, and a summer week of fly-fishing on the Eagle River.
