Steep snow and open wilderness beneath the Tetons. December to March to ski; June to September for the parks.
Jackson Hole has two seasons. December to March brings deep snow and the steepest lift-served terrain in North America. June to September opens the parks, the rivers and the high trails. April, May and November are quiet shoulder months.
The Tetons rise straight from the sage flats, with no foothills in between. The Snake River winds through the valley floor. In town, wooden boardwalks and antler arches frame the square. In winter, the National Elk Refuge is visited by horse-drawn sleigh.
Jackson Hole Airport sits inside Grand Teton National Park, the only US commercial airport to do so. Private aircraft arrive about 15 minutes from town and 25 from Teton Village. Yellowstone's south entrance is about ninety minutes by road.
Amangani sits on the butte above the valley. Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole is ski-in, ski-out at Teton Village. For larger groups, private ranches and fully staffed lodges along the Snake River.
Ask your advisor about heli-skiing in the Snake River Range, a private float trip through Grand Teton, and a guided day in Yellowstone before the crowds.
