The quieter, more cultural capital of the Emirates: museums on Saadiyat, the Grand Mosque at dusk. November to March.
Abu Dhabi keeps the same season as Dubai. November to March brings warm days and cool desert nights. The heat builds from April, and by midsummer the capital lives indoors, between the museums and the hotel pools.
It is the quieter and more cultural of the two cities. Saadiyat Island holds the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Zayed National Museum, which opened in December 2025, and the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim Abu Dhabi opens there on 11 December 2026. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is best seen at dusk, and Yas Island closes the Formula One season each December.
Private aircraft land at Al Bateen Executive Airport, a dedicated business aviation airport minutes from the city centre, or at Abu Dhabi International. Dubai is about ninety minutes by road, and the Liwa Oasis on the edge of the Empty Quarter is a short helicopter flight away.
Our preferred hotel partners cover both city and desert. Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental anchors the Corniche, Four Seasons sits on Al Maryah Island, and the St. Regis and Jumeirah share the beach on Saadiyat. Rosewood, Park Hyatt, Shangri-La and the Ritz-Carlton complete the city, and Qasr Al Sarab by Anantara stands alone in the Liwa dunes.
Ask your advisor about opening week at the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Grand Prix weekend on Yas Island, and two nights in the Empty Quarter at Qasr Al Sarab.
